Foxs Joe Buck rips Rams owner for possible move to Los Angeles

Joe Buck is more given to play-calling on Fox Sports than to commentary, but sports in his hometown is a thing near and dear to his heart and he couldn’t resist speaking out about the possible move of the Rams from St. Louis to Los Angeles.

His words aren’t likely to sit well with the Rams’ owner or the NFL.

“We’re about to lose the NFL for a second time,” Buck told Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “I don’t know how the story is going to turn out. There are myriad possibilities. It’s been really quiet from St. Louis’ standpoint, but this ball has been rolling for a long time … longer than people realize, longer than I initially realized.”

After a lengthy hiatus from Twitter, Buck returned to it last week and fired off a series of tweets, none of which he was taking back. In fact, he elaborated on them to Strauss, reminding everyone that, as the son of legendary St. Louis Cardinals broadcaster Jack Buck, “I was a proud St. Louis kid.”

He poured out his heart in tweets like this one.

Suck the life out of a team, run it down, raise prices, then say it isn't supported and leave. Great example for the NFL to celebrate JOKE!

Buck says he hasn’t heard from either the NFL or Fox management. “I don’t know what you would argue with,” he said. “I didn’t go on some drunken stupor tweeting stuff. I think about it, especially with a hot button such as this. This is big for the region. It’s about more than just the NFL.”

Stan Kroenke, the Rams’ owner, has land in Inglewood, Calif., and, so far, there’s no progress on replacing the antiquated and awful Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. Buck pointed out that, when the Rams were good, they were a tough ticket in a town known for its love of baseball above all else.

“It makes sense from Stan’s perspective, but when you step back and look at the timeline and realize how hard a ticket this was when the team was good … Dome or no Dome, it didn’t seem to matter,” Buck said. “As we sit here in 2015, I would agree the stadium isn’t good enough. It doesn’t make fans want to trudge down there. Because of this formula, we’re again going to have St. Louis without the NFL if Stan gets his way.”

Kroenke not only has the chance to cash in on LA,but punch a great city that at one point he seemed to enjoy. Esp when Rams were relevant
